Hussain DawoodChairman Mr. Hussain Dawood, a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, and a graduate in Metallurgy from Sheffield University, UK, is the Chairman of Dawood Hercules Corporation Ltd., Engro Corporation Ltd, Karachi Education Initiative/Karachi School for Business and Leadership and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, which is, globally, the largest World Bank financed social fund. He is also Chairman of the International Advisory Council of the Cradle to Cradle Institute in San Francisco. He serves as a member of the Boards of Pakistan Business Council, Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy and Beaconhouse National University and is a Member of the Boards of Trustees of Karachi Education Initiative UK, London and Asia House, London. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Anti-Corruption and is active in its Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI). Mr. Dawood is the first Pakistani to become a member of the World Economic Forum in 1992. He is a Global Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and the Honorary Consul of Italy, in Lahore. The Italian Government in recognition of his contributions conferred upon him the ‘Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana’. |

Mueen AfzalDirector Mr. Mueen Afzal graduated with honours from the Punjab University before acquiring his M.A in Philosophy, Political Science and Economics from Oxford University in 1963. A highly respected member of the Civil Service of Pakistan since 1964, he served as Secretary Finance in the Government of Pakistan (1996-1998) and also in the provinces of Punjab (1984-1986) and Balochistan (1981-1984). He also served as Secretary Health in Islamabad from 1995 to 1996. Mr. Afzal held the post of Secretary General, Finance and Economic Affairs, in the Federal Government from 1999 to 2002, and was awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz in 2002 in recognition of his distinguished public service. He is, at present, Chairman of the Pakistan Tobacco Company and a distinguished Member on the Boards of ICI Pakistan, Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy and the Beaconhouse National University. |

Atif R. BokhariDirector Mr. Atif R. Bokhari, currently President & CEO, United Bank Limited (UBL) is a career banker with extensive experience in domestic and international banking. He started his banking career in 1985 with Bank of America, where he handled diverse assignments over 15 years. Subsequent to leaving Bank of America in July 2000, Mr. Bokhari joined Habib Bank Limited wherein he was Head of Corporate and Investing Banking. Mr. Bokhari was appointed as President & CEO of UBL in May 2004 (18 months after privatization). Since then UBL has ventured into new diversified business and revenue streams namely consumer financing, E-commerce, asset management and general insurance. Mr. Bokhari holds the office of Chairman or Director in several UBL Group companies. He is also a Director of First Women Bank Limited. Mr. Bokhari is very actively involved with a private sector program for the development of education in Karachi. Specifically he is a Director for the envisaged Karachi School for Business & Leadership affiliated with the Judge Business School, Cambridge, UK. He has been appointed as Chairman of the Human Resource Committee of the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan, which is headed by the Governor State Bank of Pakistan. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Pakistan Banks’ Association. |

Aqeel Karim DhedhiDirector Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi is the Chairman of the AKD Group; one of the largest business groups in Pakistan with diversified interests such as Stock Brokerage & Investment Banking; Asset Management; Oil & Gas Exploration; Private Equity & Venture Capital; Port Operations, Real Estate Development, etc. The AKD Group is one of the two business groups that have been awarded permission by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan to establish Real Estate Management Trust (REIT) in Pakistan. Mr. Dhedhi is an active social worker and philanthropist who plays a dynamic role in the social betterment of the society by donating to educational ventures, healthcare projects and for the general uplift of the underprivileged. His philanthropic support includes providing financial aid to students aspiring for higher education in Pakistan and abroad and also to many disadvantaged families. He contributes his time to many not-for-profit institutions as Trustee and Member of Board of Directors like: The Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital; The Indus Hospital; World Memon Organization; the Resource Development Committee of the Aga Khan University Hospital; etc. Mr. Dhedhi was awarded the "Sitara-e-Esaar" by the President of Pakistan for his services during the devastating earthquake that hit the northern areas of Pakistan in October 2005. He has also been awarded honorary PhD (Honoris Cause) degrees by Biztek Institute of Higher Education and the Indus Institute of Higher Education. |

Arif HabibDirector and Chair, Finance & Fundraising Committee Mr. Arif Habib is the Chairman & Chief Executive of Arif Habib Corporation Limited. He is also the Chairman of Pakarab Fertilizers Limited, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, Thatta Cement Company Limited and Arif Habib DMCC Dubai. Mr. Habib has the distinction of being the President / Chairman of Karachi Stock Exchange for six terms. He is the Founding Member and Former Chairman of the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited. He has contributed to the Government of Pakistan as Member of the Privatization Commission, Board of Investment, Tariff Reforms Commission and Securities & Exchange Ordinance Review Committee. He has participated in a number of professional advancement courses including, Development of Securities Market organized by the SEC, USA, at Washington, D.C. in 1992. Mr. Arif Habib significantly participates in the welfare activities of different organizations. He is an Honorary Chairman of the Fatmid Foundation and the Memon Health & Education Foundation and serves as a director on the Boards of Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy. |

Frank Murray JonesDirector Mr. Francis Jones is responsible for the market/technology fractions in Tristart. He worked in corporate planning for Guest Keen and Nettlefold before travelling and working extensively in the Middle East and Asia. He has worked on economic development and project investment decisions for clients including the World Bank, Commonwealth Secretariat, Governments of India, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, Shell, Cadbury Schweppes etc. He is currently working on the start up of new enterprises, often in underprivileged micro economies. |

Hasan Irfan KhanDirector Mr. Hasan Irfan Khan is an advocate admitted to practice before the hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan and has been practicing corporate, commercial and Intellectual Property law since 1993. He is an internationally acclaimed lawyer and is legal adviser to a number of ‘Fortune 100′ and ‘Fortune 500′ Companies in Pakistan. He is member of the Board of Governors, World Wildlife Fund (WWF Pakistan) and Chair, Human Resource Committee since June 2008, and Member Executive Committee since April 2010. Mr. Khan has been a member of the Board of Management, Punjab Institute of Cardiology for over 7 years; his last term ending June 2011. He is the Managing Trustee of the Irfan Family foundation, "Asifa-Irfan Foundation" which focuses on health, education, poverty alleviation, protection and conservation of the environment. Mr. Khan has authored and co-authored key chapters for numerous legal publications of International repute. He has drafted proposed laws in the public health, pharmaceuticals and the agriculture sectors as well as Intellectual Property laws. He is also one of the five co-authors of the Electronic Transactions Ordinance 2000. He is a member of Patent Advisory Committee of Higher Education Commission, and has also been a member of numerous law related advisory committees to the Government of Pakistan. Mr. Khan was visiting faculty at LUMS and the Punjab University Law College and has lectured at NIPA, Pakistan Staff College, Foreign Trade Institute and the Federal Judicial Academy Islamabad. Mr. Khan has delivered presentations and lectures at innumerable international and local conferences. He is member of the Lahore High Court and Supreme Court Bar Associations and many international associations such as INTA, ITMA, CPA, APAA, AIPPI, IBA, Law Asia. |

Sir Timothy Patrick LankesterDirector Sir Tim Lankester was the President of Corpus Christi College at Oxford University from 2001 – 2010. He has held senior positions in the British Treasury, was Britain’s representative on the boards of the IMF, World Bank and the European Investment Bank, and served as Permanent Secretary in Britain’s international aid and education ministries. Earlier, he served as Private Secretary (Economic Affairs) to Prime Ministers Callaghan and Thatcher. From 1996 to 2001 he was Director of the School of Oriental and African Studies in the University of London. He was awarded the K.C.B in 1994. He currently chairs the Council of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the Board of Governors of Contemporary Dance Trust. He is a member of the UK/India Roundtable, is an adviser on Indonesia with the consulting firm, Oxford Analytica, and is Vice-Chairman of World Support for Development, Tokyo. |

Dr. Atta-ur-RahmanDirector and Chair, HR & Academic Committee Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman has 843 publications in organic chemistry including 663 research publications, 18 patents, 103 books and 59 chapters in books. Prof. Rahman was elected as Fellow of Royal Society (London) (2006). He won the prestigious UNESCO Science Prize (1999). He has been conferred honorary doctorate degrees by Cambridge University (1987), Coventry University (2007), Bradford University (2010), Asian Institute of Technology (2010) and many other universities. He was elected Honorary Life Fellow of Kings College, Cambridge University, UK (2007). Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman was the Federal Minister for Science and Technology (2000 – 2002), Federal Minister of Education (2002) and Chairman (Federal Minister) of the Higher Education Commission (2002-2008). Successive Governments of Pakistan have conferred four civil awards: Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (1983), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (1991), Hilal-i-Imtiaz (1998), and the highest national civil award Nishan-i-Imtiaz (2002). Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman was conferred the TWAS (Italy) Prize for Institution Building (2009) and the Austrian government conferred its high civil award (Grosse Goldene Ehrenzeischen am Bande" (2007) for bringing about revolutionary changes in higher education in Pakistan. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman is the Coordinator General of COMSTECH, (OIC Ministerial Committee comprising 57 OIC Ministers of Science & Technology). He is President of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences. |

Sarfaraz Ahmed RehmanDirector Sarfaraz is a chartered accountant by qualification and has 28 years of professional work experience, mainly in the FMCG industry. With some time spent in the Healthcare industry also. He started his career with Unilever in 1983 and spent time in Finance, Marketing Services and Projects. Moving on to Smithkline Beecham he was involved in the Merger and Strategic Planning. Later he spent several years abroad with Jardine Matheson mainly in business development and then set up a logistics service provider for them. He then moved to PepsiCo and spent several years managing the Pakistan and Afghanistan Unit. On his return to Pakistan launched Engro Foods Limited and for over six years was in the position of C.E.O. Lately he has decided to move out of commercial operations into philanthropy and is now heading Dawood Foundation. His family comprises of a wife and two sons. |

Munawar Alam SiddiquiDirector and Chair, Infrastructure Committee Mr. Siddiqui retired as an Air Commodore from the Pakistan Air Force in 2003. His last post was as the Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Administration) at Pakistan Air Force Headquarters. For his meritorious services to the PAF, he was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military). He was commissioned in the GD(P) Branch of the Pakistan Air Force in 1974. He is a qualified flying instructor and has flown over 8000 hours on different aircraft including C-130, Boeing-707 and Dassault Falcon 20. He has served as a VVIP and Presidential pilot during his tenure of service and has held various key Command and Staff appointments in the PAF. He served as Director of Air Transport at Air Headquarters from 1996 to 1998 and commanded an operational air force base with over 8,500 personnel from 2000 to 2002. Mr. Siddiqui holds an M. Sc. in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University, an M. Sc. in Strategic Studies from Karachi University, a B. Sc. (Honours) in War Studies from Karachi University and B. Sc. Avionics from Peshawar University. He is also an alumna of the National Defence College. He is Chairman JS Investments Limited, JS Air (Pvt) Limited and Mahvash & Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation and serves as Director on the boards of JS Value Fund Limited, Eye TV Network Limited, Karachi Education Initiative and Karigar Training Institute. |

Sohail S. QureshiChief Executive Officer, KEI Mr. Sohail S. Qureshi is the Chief Executive Officer of the Karachi Education Initiative (KEI). He is also the Project Manager for the state-of-the art KSBL City Campus, currently in the finishing stages. He has a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, UK, and is a Senior Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Prior to joining KEI in 2008, Mr. Qureshi has worked with the ICI Group in Pakistan for over 25 years at various key leadership positions. |
